The 2015 Video Game Awards Results
So I didn't watch this year's video game awards for 2 reasons. 1, after last year's god awful production/farce, I sincerely thought that it had died and that we would never be seeing it again and 2, because Geoff Keighley. So half of those games and people I had no idea who or what they were, but now we can actually talk about the game awards. One of the reasons I had no real desire to watch the video game awards this year was the fact that Geoff Keighley is a screwhead who doesn't know the first thing about video gaming, geek culture, or anything of that sort as he so often claims he does. He may dabble here and there in the video game industry, but for the most part he is just another Hollywood celebrity who makes money off of the video game branding rather than truly be a figurehead, which in all honesty is the only way to move up in the world in this day in age so good on you Geoff Keighley for making the most out of your wolf-in-sheep's-clothing-ness.
The biggest reason that I didn't watch the video game awards is because in the past, the show has been nothing but utter donkey shiesse. It basically trashed what credibility the video game industry had as it is trying to build its credibility in order to be a relevant form of medium in the eyes of the general public. The video game awards have basically openly mocked the video game industry for years now, and with Geoff Keighley behind the helm, I have zero faith in this so-called 'celebration' of video gaming. What we need is the equivalent of the Oscar's, but nothing as stupid as WWE's Slammy's. Do that Geoff Keighley, and then we'll talk (also, less emphasis on E-sports for the love of god).
