Image
Welcome to the continuation onto my article on the creepiest Pokedex entries! It's my Christmas present to all of you, so let's dive into more creepy Pokedex entries! Haunter Haunter "Its tongue is made of gas.  If licked, its victim starts shaking constantly until death eventually comes."(Silver) So this Pokemon likes to lick, just like Lickitung or Lickilicky! EXCEPT THESE LICKS CAUSE SEIZURES AND DEATH! Really though, why in a children's game would the creators make such a gruesome and horrible side effect to a lick from something children come in constant contact with in the game! I had a right to be scared of Haunter as a kid, he can kill me with just one stroke of his massive tongue! Banette Banette This entry tells kids never to leave their plushes alone, or else they will turn into freaky Pokemon and come back for your bones. "An abandoned plush doll became this Pokemon." (for some reason) "They are said to live in garba

So I didn't watch this year's video game awards for 2 reasons. 1, after last year's god awful production/farce, I sincerely thought that it had died and that we would never be seeing it again and 2, because Geoff Keighley.  First let's get the results out of the way so that we can move on to a deeper topic concerning the game awards in and of themselves: BEST FAMILY GAME Super Mario Maker  (Nintendo EAD Group No. 4/Nintendo) BEST FIGHTING GAME Mortal Kombat X  (NetherRealm Studios/Warner Bros. Top 10 Worst Christmas Themed Video Games

Image
Happy holidays everyone! In honor of the Christmas spirit, I've decided to do my first top 10 article for this blog! This top 10 is a very unique one to be sure, because I'm narrowing down the Worst X Christmas themed video games! 10. Christmas Nights Christmas Nights for the Sega Saturn was a very unique title developed by Sonic Team (wow, really?). Looking at a screenshot at this game, I could have sworn that the main character was a taller Amy Rose (probably Sonic Team adjusting what assets they already had just enough to make them unique for this title.). To be honest, I'm not even sure how to play this game, because literally all you are doing is flying around in a weird 2.5D environment.  However, this game was a little bit advanced for its time as it took advantage of the Saturn's internal clock. Depending on the time of year, environmental elements of the game change.  For example, during December, Nightopians appear in elf costumes and the background mus

Luke Skywalker and the Seventh Star Wars Movie

Image
Many Star Wars fans are anticipating the seventh installment of the Star Wars cinematic universe: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens Offical Poster The trailers of this film have received positive feedback and because of them, fans everywhere are dripping with anticipation of the film. However, there is one missing link in all of the trailers that fans have definitely noticed.  One man, one oh so important man is missing from all of the trailers, and that man is the destroyer of the Death Star, the vanquisher of Vader, the balance of the force himself: Luke Skywalker.  The main character of the original trilogy, which this movie is a sequel to, is strangely absent in the trailers for the film, which has raised some major questions from fans everywhere. So where is Luke Skywalker? We all know that Mark Hamill is playing a role in the film, so we do know that Luke will be somewhere in the film.  But the real question is, why hasn

The Creepiest Pokedex Entries in the Pokemon Universe (Part 1)

Pokemon was a game developed by Game Freak intended for a younger audience, however, gamers of all ages have fallen in love with this catch-em-all game.  The main premise for this game is to capture, raise, and train pokemon to their highest potential and battle them against your foes and colleagues.  On paper, it sounds barbaric, but they are too cute to be barbaric! For the most part anyway...let's face it some of them are just downright creepy.  Their backstories and intentions get even creepier, so we're here to discuss the creepiest pokedex entries of pokemon.  There is a long list of Pokemon with creepy entries, and I know a lot of you have busy lives, so I'll be posting these in parts in order to save some of your time and give your eyes a bit of relief. Kadabra Kadabra Kadabra's pokedex entry in Pokemon Fire Red is an entry that is definitely shrouded in mystery and confusion.  The entry reads " It happened one morning - a boy with extrasensory pow

My Feelings on the Current Generation Consoles (PS4, XBONE, WiiU)

Image
Currently, I don't own any current generation consoles as I'm a hermit living in the past.  The real reason is that I'm a poor college student who doesn't have 400 dollars to blow on a console, thought I'd really love to through money at either Nintendo or Sony for their respective consoles.  That being said, I did leave out a key player in my desire to own a current generation console. The Xbox One is a system that personally, I didn't think would be as successful as it was.  The biggest thing was the lack of respect and care Microsoft had for its fanbase at the beginning of its strides to sell the Xbox One.  The Xbox One's famous flop at E3 2013 was one that I thought would literally kill the system, and show the fans of Microsoft who they truly are.  If you couldn't tell, I'm not the biggest Microsoft fan, and here's the reason why.  While I own a PC and people might call me a hypocrite for hating Microsoft, you have to bear in mind that tho

Ratchet and Clank Trivia/Interesting Facts

Image
So one of my favorite game franchises of all time was the Ratchet & Clank Series.  As a kid, I started with 'Going Commando' and worked my way through the series in a really weird order, but even so I loved every second of their adventures throughout the galaxy.  These games were one of my first open world video game experiences, and I wanted to delve a little bit into the unknown facts behind Ratchet and Clank. Ratchet and Clank wasn't Insomniac's first PS2 idea After the Insomniac Games team left Spyro the Dragon behind, they were looking to develop a new IP for the Playstation 2.   However, Ratchet and Clank wasn't their first idea for the PS2.  A project called "I:5/Girl with a Stick" was their first idea, an action/adventure RPG that took inspiration from both The Legend of Zelda and Tomb Raider.  This idea was eventually canned due to lack of entertainment value stemming from the game.  This prompted the team to come up with a new idea in ju

Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-Nonexistent

Yugi vs Marik in the Battle City Finals during Yu-Gi-Oh! So I know I said I'd stick with video gaming stuff with this blog, but I'm a true geek at heart (and really I thought about making this an entire geek blog whilst including video games, but that decision is still being made. Let me know what you guys want).  Anyway, this is definitely something that got me a tad bit rattled.  And by a tad bit, I mean holy crap how did this show get messed up this bad?!? I'm talking about Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, which is the newest installment of Yu-Gi-Oh! spinoffs to promote the new way of summoning in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game.  Every so often, a new Yu-Gi-Oh! gets released along with a tweak to the trading card game, starting with 5D's which introduced Tuner monsters and the Synchro summoning method, going to Zexal which introduced the XYZ summoning method, and now continuing into Arc-V which is introducing the Pendulum summoning method.  Let me just start with the trading c
