Why Do We Love Professional Wrestling?

Image
So this post is going to be on the more philosophical side of things, as I go over why people around the world have fallen in love with Professional Wrestling over the last 30 years, and why some people still don't understand why the niche has formed, and what Professional Wrestling has to offer. Origin Professional wrestling originated as a modification of regular mat wrestling, a sport that you still see in high schools, colleges, and the Olympics today.  In fact, until the 1920's, Professional Wrestling was considered an actual sport in the United States.  The true origins of Professional wrestling dates back to the 1860's in a Carnival environment.  Men with amateur wrestling and mat wrestling backgrounds came together in Carnival shows to stage over the top and theatrical wrestling matches for entertainment.  This 'Carnival' trend then began to spread throughout the United States and Europe and began to rise in popularity. So how did Professional Wre...

My Top 10 Favorite Playstation 2 Games

Image
So the Playstation 2 was my lifeblood as a kid.  I would come home from school and spend the entire afternoon and evening on that thing until I went to bed that night.  It was the best system that I have ever owned, and it provided me with some amazing memories.  That's why I wanted to make a list of my top 10 favorite Playstation 2 games and share it with you all.  However, keep in mind that I wasn't able to play every game on the Playstation 2 and that this list is just my personal opinion, it is not the end all be all of gaming.  So with that in mind, let's count 'em down! 10. WWE Smackdown VS RAW 2007 It is pretty much for this game and this game alone that I put that disclaimer in the beginning of the article, as pretty much no one else has this game on any Top 10 Playstation games list, especially because it was a game that was available across platforms.  However, I gave this game an honorary place on my list simply because of the sheer amo...

Blog Update!

Hello there everyone! So I've noticed a spike in readers on this blog over the last couple of days, and for that I have to give my utmost thanks, because I love having people stop by and read my content, and actually like it to boot! So in honor of this I figured I would do whatever I could to make this site better for everyone who reads my stuff. So in order to do this I need to work on the appearance of the site, which I'm sure some people have already noticed things being changed.  I wanted to make the design and fonts as appealing as possible, but I also want to make the site more user-friendly and reader friendly.  To do this, I need to change the back-end of the site to fix some things. But not to worry, the site will still be 100% readable and you will still be able to get ahold of both old content and new content that will still be getting flushed out on a regular basis, however, the maintenance on the site may affect how previous articles appear on the blog. ...

What to Expect From Spider-Man: Homecoming

Image
So as we all know, 2017 is set to be the year of the Spider, as Spider-Man: Homecoming is slated to hit theaters this summer, and as the third installment of the web-slinger is longing to outdo his 2 predecessors, Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire, there are some things that we can definitely see put into play during his first standalone film to possibly make that dream a reality. 1. Building On Captain America: Civil War So as we could plainly see during the events of Captain America: Civil War, the wall-crawler is back and better than ever.  As soon as he made his onscreen debut, Tom Holland's Spider-Man began his wisecracking and joking that made the original comic book Spider-Man so beloved by fans, thus bringing an element from the original conception to his incarnation of the Spider that had somehow managed to fall through the cracks in the last two incarnations.  One thing that we can expect for his solo film, is that this incarnation of Spider-Man is definitely g...

Top 10 Desires for WWE 2K18

Image
So I have been a fan of WWE for a long time, and one of the most integral factors of me getting into wrestling was actually the video games.  I started out with WWE Smackdown VS RAW and never looked back, I became so immersed in the games that I have owned every single WWE game since WWE Smackdown VS RAW.  However, the quality of the games seem to stagnate every once in a while, especially with the THQ/2K acquisition and 2K just beginning to get acclimated with the format of these games.  While WWE 2K17 was a big success, it was more or less very similar to it's predecessor, WWE 2K16.  Here are the Top 10 things that I personally am hoping for in WWE 2K18. #10 - The Draft So this is a very basic thing that is pretty much on everyone's wish list.  The WWE Brand Extension happened in July of 2016, and WWE 2K17 released in October of 2016 without the Brand Extension. This has made the game pretty much obsolete from day one and is an extremely unfortunate c...

Superhero Spotlight #1: The Green Lantern (DC Comics)

Image
To start off this weekly Superhero Spotlight, I'd like to dive into my favorite DC hero, The Green Lantern.  Most of my superhero stuff on this blog have been about Marvel guys, strictly because I am a Marvel guy through a through, but there are a lot of DC heroes that need some love too, such as old Green man himself! Background The Green Lantern The Green Lantern has been portrayed by an astounding 7 characters; Alan Scott in the Golden Age, Hal Jordan in the Silver Age, Guy Gardner and John Stewart in the Bronze Age, Kyle Rayner in the Modern Age, and Simon Baz & Jessica Cruz in the New 52.  It would take far too long to explain each one's origin, so let me just explain every Green Lantern's similarity: The Green Power Ring. The Green Lantern Power Rings belong to the Green Lantern Corps, which is a group of Green Lanterns dedicated to defending the universe against evil.  Using their Green Lantern Power Rings which are powered by their willpower, they a...
